In the fall of 2023, I embarked on an inspiring journey as the President of the UX Student Association (UXSA) at the University of North Texas. Having been part of the organization for over a year, I assumed leadership at a pivotal moment, driven by a profound passion for creating a supportive community for creatives.
The UXSA had faced considerable challenges in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, struggling to regain its footing. Recognizing the need for revitalization, I embraced this role as a passion project. My vision was clear: to rebuild the organization from the ground up and instill a culture of collaboration, innovation, and unwavering support for aspiring designers.
Today, the UXSA at UNT stands as a vibrant and inclusive community, offering a nurturing environment for budding UX enthusiasts. Our overarching goal is to create a space where learning, collaboration, and innovation intersect, empowering our members to evolve into future leaders in the field of UX design.
We've not only focused on our academic growth but also extended our reach to become a central hub for Dallas-area creatives. Our commitment to ethical design principles is unwavering, and we stand united in promoting them within our community.
Collaborating closely with Ariana Hill, the Vice President of UXSA, has been instrumental in our journey. Together, we've achieved remarkable milestones while building a strong foundation for the organization:
